Requirements

  • Must possess a minimum of one year of providing substance use disorder treatment service or two years experience as social worker or two years experience as a mental health counselor.
  • DOC clearance for all jail-based positions.
  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • Social workers are required to have a Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited school.
  • Mental Health Counselors are required to have a Master’s or Doctoral degree in mental health counseling from an accredited school.

Nice To Haves

  • LCSW or LMSW preferred (for Social Workers).
  • LMHC preferred (for Mental Health Counselors).
  • CASAC and/or other QHP preferred, except in cases where it is required to meet regulatory QHP staffing requirement ratios.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain ongoing participation in the daily operation of the program through the provision of various clinical and therapeutic activities for the provision of substance use disorder treatment services.
  • Maintains clinical records in compliance with all regulatory bodies and SJRH/BHS policies and procedures.
  • Provides assessment, case management, intervention, orientation, treatment planning, individual/group treatment services and discharge planning for patients and their families.
  • Collaborates with internal staff and external community resources for client treatment purposes and relationship building.
  • Participate in all necessary activities to ensure payment for treatment services by insurance/managed care companies including, but not limited to, Medicaid/Medicare.
  • Prepare reports, maintain statistical data, and attends meetings, as assigned.
