About The Position

Progress Foundation is hiring full-time Crisis Counselors for our Sonoma programs. The Crisis Counselor provides outreach, basic support, individual and group crisis counseling, public education, and referral information for those experiencing serious mental illness and other co-occurring disorders. Success in the position requires great engagement skills, a passion for making a difference, and ideally, individuals who are technology- and internet-savvy. They must be an independent worker, but comfortable working within a team.

Requirements

• Experience in crisis counseling or mental health support.
• Strong engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide outreach and basic support to individuals experiencing serious mental illness.
• Conduct individual and group crisis counseling.
• Offer public education and referral information.
• Engage with clients to build therapeutic relationships.
• Encourage active participation of clients in their treatment planning.
