About The Position

Join Our Healing Circle as an Integrated Behavioral Health Counselor! The Kwawachee Counseling Center at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA) invites you to bring your gifts and join us in our mission of healing and hope. We are currently looking for an experienced Counselor to serve youth, adults, and families within our tribal and surrounding communities. This is more than a job – it’s a calling to walk alongside others on their healing journey through culturally grounded, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in human services or behavioral health field
• WA State licensure as a Mental Health Counselor, Social Worker, or Marriage and Family Therapist (associate or full license depending on level)
• At least (1) year experience providing direct counseling services to individuals, families, and groups

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessments and culturally sensitive counseling to individuals, families, and groups
• Support clients experiencing mental health challenges, including those at risk of suicide, using evidence-based approaches like CBT and DBT
• Serve as a trusted crisis responder and participate in outreach efforts
• Develop personalized treatment plans in partnership with clients, written in their own voice
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support holistic wellness
• Engage in community prevention and education initiatives
