Counselor – Inpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment Location: Newport News, VA Licensure Required: LPC, LCSW, Licensed-Eligible Resident, or CSAC Position Summary As a Counselor, you will play a key role in guiding clients toward lasting recovery. This position involves delivering high-quality clinical services, maintaining accurate documentation, and contributing to a safe, therapeutic, and supportive treatment environment.
Requirements
- LPC, LCSW, Licensed-Eligible Resident, or CSAC (required)
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to manage crisis situations effectively
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Develop and review individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team
- Facilitate individual therapy, family sessions, and therapeutic group sessions
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within the EHR system
- Provide documentation and support for utilization reviews as needed
- Coordinate care with referral sources and outpatient providers
- Assist in developing aftercare plans and tracking client outcomes
- Contribute to curriculum development and participate in staff training initiatives
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention when necessary
