This position is under the general supervision of the Director of the Counseling & Testing Center (CTC). The counselor will function as a strong generalist conducting mental health assessments (intakes), urgent care (crisis) assessments, triage assessments and professional counseling services (including individual, couples, group). Other responsibilities include referral, consultation, in-service training, and outreach, as well as crisis intervention services and public relations services to campus and community members as appropriate. The counselor will also participate on staff, student affairs, and university committees. Similar to all staff at the CTC, the successful candidate will work to make UWL a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students, and they will do so in compliance with ethical, legal, and accreditation guidelines. Independent licensure is required for this position. This is a 10-month, annual appointment. The successful candidate will be working full time for 10 months of the year (August 1 to May 31), and will be put on short work break for the months of June and July.
