About The Position

The Counselor-in-Training Director position is responsible for the planning, implementing and leading the Counselor in Training program for campers in a small group setting. Requirements

The incumbent must be 20 years of age or older.
Ability to supervise and lead a group of campers in a small group setting.
Possess leadership skills that can assist in encouraging and motivating campers.
Incumbent must show enthusiasm, dedication, responsibility and maturity and have the ability to interact and communicate clearly with campers, parents and staff.

Nice To Haves

Ability to teach songs, crafts, games, stories, sports, and related skills is preferred.
Bachelor’s of the Arts of Bachelor’s of Science in Recreation, Physical Education, Education or related field is preferred (or working toward degree).

Responsibilities

Prepare, organize, and implement all aspects of the CIT program and is responsible for the general safety and supervision of campers in program.
Educate CITs in the various positions of camp i.e. counselors, lifeguards, activity directors, day camp director, etc.
Supervise and participate in all assigned aspects of the CITs day which includes but is not limited to: CIT check-in and check-out; meal times; activities and extended am and extended pm duties as assigned.
Attend and participate in two weeks of Leadership Staff Training and General Staff Training.
