About The Position

This position will develop clinical treatment plans and provide individual, family, and crisis intervention counseling.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of counseling best practices.
  • Knowledge of substance abuse and mental health issues.
  • Ability to develop substance abuse treatment plans.
  • High level of professionalism, client service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform duties skillfully and effectively.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to communicate in an articulate, professional manner while maintaining a necessary degree of confidentiality.
  • Ability to positively and effectively represent the organization.
  • Ability to work in culturally and racially diverse populations and in lower socio-economic conditions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of related experience.
  • Certified with California SUD licensing agency.
  • Must be able to pass required pre-employment health and background screening.
  • Must provide proof of required vaccinations by federal, state, and local funding sources.
  • BLS/CPR certified.
  • Employees driving personal vehicles for El Proyecto business must provide El Proyecto a description of the vehicle used, proof of a valid driving license, and auto liability insurance.
  • El Proyecto will reimburse employees for their mileage at the current rate set by the Internal Revenue Service.
  • To receive mileage reimbursement, the employee must log their mileage and submit the mileage expense report to their Appropriate Administrator.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counseling in a clinic setting.
  • Facilitate specialized group sessions.
  • Coordinate with the client care team to develop treatment plans.
  • Assess and report on client progress.
  • Make appropriate referrals during treatment and for aftercare follow-up.
  • Prepare progress and discharge or termination letters for social workers and the court system.
  • Serve as a guide for self-sufficiency and a lifestyle free of substance abuse.
  • Keep current and accurate records.
  • Interact professionally with the client and the client’s family or representatives.
  • Consider the client’s cultural, psychological, social, and environmental factors.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
