About The Position

Columbia Community Mental Health is a nonprofit agency and Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic that provides services to individuals with mental, addiction and developmental disabilities. We uphold our values in authenticity and commitment to quality care. Members of our CCMH team have a daily opportunity to make a positive impact.  Crisis receiving and stabilization services offer the community a no-wrong-door access to mental health and substance use care. Our Crisis receiving Center (CRC) provides a safe, dry, warm space where people experiencing a mental crisis can stay for observation for up to 23 hours. The vision of the CRC is to change the way the community sees, treats, and supports those in mental health crisis. Position: Counselor I (Crisis Receiving Center) Department: Integrated Community Support Specialties Shift: Friday - Monday, 6:00pm - 5:00am (overnight shift) Salary Range: $28.13 to $36.37(hourly). There are 15 steps on our salary scale. We use a bona fide factor system to determine starting wage (years of experience, education, credentials, and specialty skills that relate to the job requirements). For this position, shift differential pay is included in base pay and is included in the calculation of overtime pay for those staff that work a schedule that regularly includes night shifts.    Benefits: CCMH provides a generous comprehensive benefits program to employees and family members, including qualified domestic partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services field or combination of education/experience that qualifies as a QMHA required
  • Reliable transportation, current auto insurance and valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency’s insurance standards.
  • MVR check required.

Nice To Haves

  • History of working cooperatively in a team setting with at least two years relevant work experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of human behavior, individuals diagnosed with mental illness/addiction issues; rehabilitation and recovery theories/practice.
  • Abilities in skills training and psych-educational groups/classes; implementing evidence-based practices.
  • Abilities to interact as a member of an interdisciplinary team and complete required documentation.

Responsibilities

  • The Counselor I, as part of an integrated care team, will provide therapeutic services to adults, children, adolescents and families as assigned by a designated QMHP or Clinical Supervisor.
  • The Counselor I may be assigned to any agency program including, but not limited to: ACT, Crisis, Intensive Services, Outpatient, Jail Diversion, Wrap, Residential or Detox.
  • Essential duties may vary per location/department/position.
