Essential Functions: Provide a continuum of counseling services to individuals with alcohol/drug related conditions and/or problems using a variety of therapeutic modalities and evidence-based practices. Coordinate and facilitate group and individual counseling sessions (ASAM Levels 0.5, I, II.1, continuing care, DUI), and psychoeducation in community-based settings. Responsible for an assigned caseload and the associated documentation, including assessment, treatment planning, continuing care, case management, and discharge plans; monitor progress and participants' response to treatment. Communicate with referral sources to provide status reports and completion/discharge documentation. Maintain weekly performance productivity. Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individual in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's, bachelor's or master's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field preferred.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in substance use field preferred.
  • LSW, LPC, LCSW, LCPC or CADC required, or must obtain within two (2) years of hire date.
  • Annual TB test and biohazard training required.
  • Knowledge and experience using DSM-5 and ASAM criteria to make accurate diagnoses of substance use disorders and treatment/intervention recommendations required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, verbally and written.
  • Excellent organization, presentation, and pc/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software.
  • Background check clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient speaking, reading, and writing Spanish preferred.
  • Experience working with adolescents preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in EHR documentation and review preferred.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining collaborative community partnerships preferred.
  • Experience using Zoom or other telehealth platform preferred.
  • Valid driver's license, in good standing for the state of residency preferred.
  • Access to reliable transportation preferred.
  • Valid IL statutory minimum liability insurance coverage, bodily injury and property damage preferred.
