About The Position

The Student Services Division is currently accepting applications for part-time Mental Health Counselors. The role involves providing mental health short term and crisis counseling services to a diverse student population through direct contact with students individually, in groups, in initial screenings and through walk-in counseling. Counselors will also provide crisis assessment and emergency response for students and the campus community, maintain clinical records and documentation as appropriate, and provide referral services as needed to students, faculty, and staff in need of psychological and counseling resources, beyond those offered on campus. Additionally, maintaining collaborative relationships with college faculty, staff, and administrators is essential. Counselors are expected to attend mental health clinical meetings and other student service meetings and events when appropriate, facilitate mental health support groups for students on campus, and perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, or career development, marriage and family therapy, or marriage, family and child counseling.
  • OR the equivalent.
  • A Bachelor's degree in one of the above listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification.
