About The Position
The Counselor - Addiction Treatment provides comprehensive counseling and support services to individuals recovering from substance use disorders. This position delivers individual and group therapy, develops treatment plans, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to promote recovery and long-term wellness.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or a related field required
- Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) or Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical (LCSW-C), or eligibility for licensure required
- Formal education or training in group therapy modalities and theory required (evaluated individually)
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a mental health, substance use, or addiction treatment setting
- Proven experience facilitating group and individual therapy sessions
- Familiarity with Utilization Review and clinical documentation standards
- Strong therapeutic and counseling skills with a focus on addiction recovery
- Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, and customer service abilities
- Proficiency in documentation, telecommunication, and electronic record systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and engage effectively with clients and community partners
Nice To Haves
- Certification in Addiction Counseling preferred
