The day-to-day involves drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements, including master services agreements, statements of work, influencer and talent agreements, production agreements, event agreements, vendor agreements, NDAs, and other related service or license agreements. You will also be responsible for training, educating, and advising teams about relevant legal issues and risks, approval processes, and company policies and procedures across various departments. Additionally, you will review content for legal compliance and risk evaluation of industry-specific laws, rules and regulations relating to intellectual property, rights of privacy/publicity, and advertising claims and disclosures. Conducting trademark clearance searches for developed trademarks, taglines/slogans, designs, and other consumer-facing content will also be part of your role. You will develop, implement and improve company-wide form documents, legal processes and procedures, and provide support for and collaborate with the rest of the global Legal team on a wide variety of matters, as needed and assigned.

  • Reviewing content for legal compliance and risk evaluation of industry-specific laws, rules and regulations relating to intellectual property, rights of privacy/publicity, and advertising claims and disclosures.
  • Conducting trademark clearance searches for developed trademarks, taglines/slogans, designs, and other consumer-facing content.
  • Developing, implementing and improving company-wide form documents, legal processes and procedures.
  • Providing support for and collaborating with the rest of the global Legal team on a wide variety of matters, as needed and assigned.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree and J.D. degree with admission to one or more state bars in good standing required; NY Bar admission preferred.
  • 4-6 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in-house or at a law firm working in digital media, advertising, and/or production industry(ies).
  • A strong and demonstrated interest in the digital advertising world, social media, and intellectual property matters.
  • Quick learner with a strong work ethic and demonstrated initiative, responsibility, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills (including effective communication of legal advice to non-lawyers and strong ability to think on your feet).
  • Flexibility and readiness to work on a high volume and broad variety of matters in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with experience thinking critically, practically, and with an eye toward finding business-forward solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team setting as well as work independently to plan coordinate, organize, and manage several complex projects at the same time with limited supervision.
