This position is a business and transactional lawyer who will support Fiserv’s dynamic merchant-facing products and businesses, such as Clover, our flagship payment and business solutions platform for small and medium-sized businesses, merchant acquiring, and our hardware business

Requirements

JD from accredited law school
Licensed to practice, or ability to become licensed to practice as in-house counsel, and in good standing with no disciplinary record, in the applicable state
1+ years of experience practicing law, preferably negotiating, drafting, and redlining contracts
You must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.

Nice To Haves

Credit cards, payments, or banking industry experience.
Experience interacting with senior business leaders, either as inhouse, or outside counsel.
Exposure to financial services, technology contracts and data privacy issues.

Responsibilities

Draft, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts with merchants, partners, resellers, and vendors, including SaaS, services, hardware, and integration agreements.
Counsel sales, product, and engineering teams on contractual risk, go-to-market terms, and deal structuring for merchant-facing products.
Advise on regulatory, compliance, and payment network requirements and coordinate responses to legal and regulatory inquiries.
Collaborate with IP, privacy, security, finance, tax, and compliance specialists to resolve cross-functional legal matters.
Manage outside counsel engagements, oversee matter budgets, and drive efficient legal processes for routine and complex transactions.
Provide strategic legal input on product features, pricing models, and partner integrations to support business objectives.
