About The Position

The Counsel position at Reyes Holdings involves serving as a legal advisor to the company, providing guidance on various legal matters, and supporting acquisition activities. The role requires collaboration with senior leadership and participation in enterprise-wide legal team meetings. The Counsel will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly in the distribution of alcoholic beverages, and will draft and negotiate a variety of agreements.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and 3+ years of related experience at a major law firm and/or corporate legal department.
• Admission to a U.S. state bar with an active license and compliance with requirements for in-house practice in Illinois.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a legal advisor to the company, advising on all legal matters affecting the company.
• Assist with acquisition activities, including due diligence, negotiations, and purchase agreement drafting.
• Participate in enterprise-wide legal team meetings and activities.
• Support the full range of regulatory compliance and ethics affairs, advising on state and federal regulatory changes.
• Draft and negotiate agreements, including alcoholic beverage distribution agreements and vendor agreements.
• Coordinate material litigation with key stakeholders and participate in claim reviews.
• Support and review internal and external communications, including social media and crisis communications.
