Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits is seeking an experienced alcoholic beverage regulatory attorney to join its fast-paced, collaborative legal team as Counsel, Regulatory & Compliance. The location of this position is based in Stamford, Connecticut; however, hybrid and remote work options may be considered.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate required
• Active license to practice law and ability to qualify as in-house counsel in Connecticut
• 5+ years of experience in a regulatory legal role within the alcoholic beverage industry
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent organizational skills and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• High level of professionalism, integrity and commitment
• Excellent legal and commercial judgment and acumen
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines/priorities
• Team player

Responsibilities

• Conducting in-depth regulatory research related to the marketing, promotion, and sale of alcoholic beverages.
• Providing legal review of marketing initiatives, advertising materials, promotions, and trade practices, including coupons, sponsorships, sweepstakes, and charitable partnerships.
• Delivering clear, timely legal guidance to Marketing and Sales teams.
• Supporting the negotiation and review of marketing, advertising, and sponsorship agreements.
• Developing and leading training programs that reinforce compliant practices across Marketing and Sales teams.
• Advising on regulatory pathways for launching in new international markets.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable compliant and fast-paced growth.
