About The Position

This position provides legal services and support to the Company and its subsidiaries with respect to real estate law issues associated with the Company’s operations, including acquisition/disposition, mergers & acquisitions, development, leasing and land use. Additionally, this position will also provide legal support to the business with respect to commercial and general corporate matters and various development projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, J.D., law license in Texas (or other state license and willingness to become licensed in Texas)
• 5-8+ years of general real estate and transactional experience preferably with in-house experience in energy
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Effective negotiation skills and experience
• Broad based understanding of general business practices
• Strong problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities

• Provide support on real estate law issues relating to operations of the company, including leases, easements, construction disputes, and water and mineral rights
• Provide broad legal support to business on variety of commercial transactions and matters, including operations, transportation, pipeline, interconnection, and power purchase agreements
• Manage, draft & negotiate contracts supporting commercial needs of company
• Support corporate development team on strategic projects
