About The Position

This Counsel role will support the Purpose team and the BMS Foundation within the Corporate Affairs organization. The individual in this role will provide legal advice for each of these various teams as they navigate regulatory and compliance considerations. They will also be responsible for advising senior leaders on strategy and execution to ensure compliance and cohesion.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience at a public company or a law firm; prefer experience in commercial pharmaceutical legal or compliance.
  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school and license to practice law in the U.S.
  • Strong judgment, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience supporting senior leadership and corporate transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Advise the Health Equity team to ensure their activities and innovative initiatives are compliant within various legal frameworks.
  • Advise the BMS Foundation on all non-profit and compliance considerations.
  • Support the Patient Advocacy organization.
  • Support the Corporate Giving team to establish a global strategy and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Review the various outputs of the teams above to ensure consistency with public disclosures and appropriate within the legal frameworks involved.
  • Work with market legal teams and the therapeutic area legal teams to apply local market legal requirements.
