The Counsel, Data Privacy & Litigation will lead Data Privacy & Protection and Corporate Litigation for FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation and its subsidiaries. This role involves providing strategic legal counsel, managing data privacy and litigation matters, and serving as a key legal resource for the organization. The ideal candidate will work independently and collaboratively, supporting a diverse portfolio of businesses in life sciences, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, technology, and manufacturing.

  • Act as a key subject matter expert and advisor on data privacy and protection law.
  • Advise on compliance with U.S. and global data protection laws.
  • Collaborate with privacy and security colleagues to enhance the company's privacy program.
  • Provide legal support for reviewing, drafting, and negotiating privacy and data security terms in contracts.
  • Advise on data protection laws impacting business operations and contractual relationships.
  • Provide legal counsel on investigations involving personal data breaches.
  • Develop enterprise-wide best practices for incident response readiness.
  • Identify and advise on key legal issues requiring attention from the privacy compliance team.
  • Provide legal counsel to IT Security and Compliance teams on privacy matters.
  • Manage and resolve lawsuits and pre-litigation disputes.
  • Drive responses to investigations involving regulators and government entities.
  • Develop strategies for managing and resolving cases and investigations.
  • Advise senior executives on litigation strategies.
  • Manage responses to discovery requests, including e-discovery.
  • Conduct internal investigations and fact development.
  • Supervise outside counsel and litigation consultants.
  • Draft policies and conduct training to educate business partners.
  • Licensed to practice law in good standing under the Bar of at least one state.
  • College degree and juris doctorate from accredited law school.
  • At least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney, in-house or at a law firm.
  • Experience providing legal counseling on data privacy and data security matters.
  • Experience with litigation and investigations matters.
  • Understanding of relevant privacy statutes and regulations.
  • Experience assessing legal risks relating to data protection and privacy.
  • Experience drafting and negotiating privacy and security-related contracts.
  • Experience with data loss prevention and cybersecurity events.
  • Experience managing privacy and/or cybersecurity incident response.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Subject matter expertise in litigation, including motions, pleadings, and discovery.
  • Experience setting in-house legal litigation strategy.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaborative team player.
  • Experience with products liability in life sciences or healthcare.
  • Privacy certifications such as CIPP-US, CIPP-C, CIPP-E, CIPM, CHPC.
  • Interest in new and emerging technologies in healthcare and life sciences.
  • Salary range of $170,000 - $180,000 depending on experience.
