About The Position

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) at Atoka County Healthcare Authority is responsible for providing therapeutic interventions under the direct supervision of an occupational therapist. This role is integral to delivering comprehensive care in an interdisciplinary environment, ensuring that therapeutic services are consistent with the position’s qualifications and standards.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an AOTA approved associate's degree program and shall meet the practice requirements of the appropriate state.
  • Experience working under the supervision of an occupational therapist in a therapeutic setting.
  • Familiarity with interdisciplinary healthcare environments.
  • Experience in implementing therapeutic interventions as guided by an occupational therapist.
  • Skills needed to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and complete work in a timely and effective manner.
  • Capacity to function effectively both dependently and independently in an urgent and expedient manner.
  • Strong customer relations and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the occupational therapist in implementing treatment plans and delivering therapeutic interventions to patients.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal therapeutic outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to facilitate understanding and engagement in the therapeutic process.
  • Organize, prioritize, and complete work assignments in a timely and effective manner, ensuring that all patient needs are met efficiently.
  • Function both dependently and independently to address urgent and expedient patient care needs.
  • Maintain high standards of customer relations and service, ensuring a positive experience for patients and their families.
  • Adhere to all state practice requirements and standards as a graduate of an AOTA approved associate degree program.
