Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant for a 13-week travel assignment in Toledo, Ohio. The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides direct, hands-on therapeutic interventions to support patients in regaining or developing skills necessary for daily living. Working under the supervision of a licensed OT, the Occupational Therapy Assistant implements individualized treatment plans, assists with adaptive techniques and equipment, and educates patients and their families on strategies to enhance functional independence.

  • Deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions and treatments in accordance with the established treatment plan
  • Maintain and operate adaptive equipment and assistive devices integral to occupational therapy interventions
  • Provide education to patients and caregivers about occupational therapy techniques and strategies for effective self-management
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care and ensure continuity of treatment
  • Monitor patient responses during treatment, accurately documenting outcomes in the medical record
  • Promptly report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist
  • Provide care in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community clinics, adapting interventions to meet the specific needs of each environment
  • Adjust effectively to various clinical settings and evolving patient care needs, demonstrating flexibility in practice
  • Prioritize tasks efficiently to manage multiple patients and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients' comfort needs during therapy sessions
  • Perform additional duties assigned within scope of practice
  • Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
  • COTA Certification (NBCOT)
  • Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy
  • Occupational Therapy Assistant experience, but New Grads are welcome to apply
  • Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
