Requirements

  • Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant curriculum approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Certified as an occupational therapy assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
  • Reliable, independent means of transportation to make home visits.
  • Drivers must have a valid driver’s license and drive a car with insurance limits as established in personnel policies

Responsibilities

  • Makes home visits to patients in accordance with the physician’s plan of care
  • Implements the therapy program established by the OTR/L providing services to prevent disability, relieve pain, restoring function and independence to achieve the patient’s full potential following disease or injury.
  • Assists in teaching patients and in planning discharge from occupational therapy services
