Costume Shop Assistant

Barrington Stage Company, an award-winning professional theatre company located in the heart of the Berkshires, is seeking a Costume Shop Assistant to join our team in Pittsfield, MA. JOB OVERVIEW The Costume Shop Assistant serves as the primary administrative support for the department, handling ledger tracking, internal/external rental inquiries, and stock database management.
Requirements
- Proficiency in accounting/ledger tracking and Google Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and knowledge of clothing/fabric vendors.
- Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation required.
- Must be comfortable working with students and volunteers.
- Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Provide accurate ledger tracking and accounting for shop expenditures.
- Manage BSC’s costume rentals for internal departments (Education/Archives) and external theaters.
- Maintain and update the Costume Stock Database and physical inventory.
- Assist management with pulling from stock, researching availability, and local shopping.
- Handle the return of unused garments and restocking of costume storage.
- Other duties as assigned.
