About The Position

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Cost Planning Specialist to join our Marine team in Kennesaw, GA. The Cost Planning Specialist will establish a structured Cost Planning function within the organization and will be responsible for strategic alignments between development projects and existing operations, implementing cost calculation, budgeting, and tracking procedures to ensure financial contribution of new products to the overall business. What you'll be doing: Create strategic alignment between projects and businesses in the process of the organization's mid-term product planning. Cross-functional collaboration with product planning, engineering, procurement, and manufacturing to balance financial viability and technical feasibility of new products. Establish and implement & maintain methodologies that ensure visibility & accountability for cost calculation, budgeting, and tracking through the duration of each development project. Report profitability status and action plan at development project phase gates. Monitoring & analysis of business profitability, company cost structures, intercompany trade conditions to solidify baseline conditions for use in mid-term product planning. Perform tasks that require bridging understanding of company P&Ls, product BOM costs, and engineering/manufacturing/purchasing operations. Continuously seek cost reduction opportunities to create initiatives when required. Participation in mid-term Product Planning frameworks. Analyze company's cost structure to create financial baseline for future product planning. Develop Cost Planning frameworks - Implement standardized methodologies for cost calculation, tracking, and countermeasure planning. Budgeting of development individual project's financial goals - Define the project's financial targets in alignment with strategic intensions. Monitoring and reporting - Track the project's profitability against target, enlighten the project to create countermeasures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in financial accounting, business administration, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in cost planning, financial analysis, or project cost control.
  • Analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and financial modelling.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis techniques.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex financial data to clear decision recommendations.
