Caterpillar’s Earth Moving Division is hiring for Cost Manager in Peoria, IL! Role Summary: In this role you will manage Motor Grader and Medium Tractor Products Cost team to deliver Sustainable Value Creation and work across entire value chain to identify and execute cost opportunities to achieve goals.

Requirements

  • Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Accounting, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
  • Degree Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related fields.
  • Business Acumen: Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Planning: Tactical, Strategic: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Process Management: Knowledge of business process improvement tools and techniques; ability to understand, monitor, update, control, or enhance existing business or work processes.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Value Stream Mapping, LCP I, LCP II and VAVE.
  • Ability to work across the end-to-end value stream to improve efficiency.
  • Prior Management experience.
  • Experience with AI to identify opportunities with diverse data sets.
  • Prior experience with Product group.
  • Communicate effectively with c-suite to demonstrate concise, data-driven and strategic communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Managing staffing, development, and performance management for value chain design teams; motivating and developing project and team leaders.
  • Designing and implementing end-to-end value chain improvements.
  • Managing high-impact, short and long duration value chain improvement initiatives and projects.
  • Managing risk and recovery related to foreseeable and unforeseeable value chain disruptions.
