We are currently looking for a Cost Manager to Senior Cost Manager team member to add to our growing team in Wilson, NC. This role has a strong focus on conceptual estimating as you will be involved in a variety of projects currently in the very early design phases. This is a client facing role in a fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to make an impact on state of the art projects and as well as provide direction and oversight of more junior level team members. Develop budget estimates by performing accurate quantity take offs using plans and specifications, or conceptual information. Review, interpret and define the scope of assigned work as described in the project documents. Build up unit costs based on understanding of labor and material rate structures. Understand local market conditions and solicit feedback where applicable. Develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor and client relationships. Prepare and deliver summary analysis for assigned scope of work. Understand basic contractual arrangements and delivery methods. Evaluate change orders and peer review of estimates. Assist with the continuous cost management process. Develop and implement risk and value management exercises on projects. Participate in local industry events. Demonstrate understanding of cost management fundamentals. Ability to communicate with various stakeholders, internal and external to company. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work efficiently. Ability to perform at high levels in a fast paced, ever-changing work environment. Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Education: BS in Construction, Cost & Commercial Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field
  • Experience: more than 2 years experience post receiving undergraduate degree working in related field
  • Preferred Certification: Working towards Professional Certification – MRICS, AssocRICS, CCP, CEP, CPE or equivalent
