The Role The Mission Critical Center of Excellence manages billions of dollars in projects annually, specializing in data center and mission-critical construction for leading technology and telecommunications clients across the United States. Focused on fast-paced, MEP-intensive projects, the group is recognized for delivering complex solutions while offering significant opportunities for career advancement within the thriving mission-critical construction industry. The Cost Manager is an expert in cost tracking tasks associated with a large high-profile Data Center Projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field preferred though not required.
  • Three or more years of related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of Procore and budget management
  • Outstanding team player with good interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in forensic auditing of a project a plus
  • Construction accounting experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Change Event files in Suffolk’s Project Management Software.
  • Conducting forensic audits on Procore budget management system
  • Solicit, receive, and audit Subcontractor change event pricing for compliance with Suffolk requirements.
  • Receive and audit Subcontractor extra work orders for compliance with Suffolk requirements.
  • With guidance from the Project Management Team, issue Subcontractor Change Orders and track to final completion.
  • Assist Project Managers with preparation of Owner Change Orders.
  • Assist Project Controller and Project Managers with cost studies and projections as requested for various supplies, utilities, and other expenses.
  • Assist Project Managers in procurement of Subcontracts and Purchase Orders.
  • Work closely with Project Management team and Project Controller on all facets of project accounting and office administration issues.
