The Opportunity The Cost Financial Analyst will work out of our Irving, TX location in the Diagnostics Division. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers. What You’ll Work On The role is responsible for supporting key aspects of our cost and operational accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and sustaining a strong internal control environment across multiple operational areas. The position plays a critical role in month‑end close, fixed asset management, inventory and costing activities, capital and expense tracking, and ongoing balance sheet integrity. You will partner closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver timely, accurate financial insights while ensuring compliance with accounting policies and operational requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is a plus
  • Minimum 2 years experience in accounting/finance recording journal entries and working with general ledge
  • Minimum 1 year working with accounting/finance software; Can work with Excel, Power Point, and Oracle ERP applications
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of accounting regulations and solid knowledge of operational accounting issues.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support fixed asset accounting activities, including annual physical inventory, asset additions, retirements, transfers, and providing cross‑functional guidance on asset management practices.
  • Manage Construction in Progress (CIP) and capital project accounting, including tracking project actuals and accruals, and partnering with project owners to ensure proper classification, reporting, and reconciliation of capital spending and related expenses.
  • Assist with month‑end close activities, including preparation of recurring journal entries, accruals, reclasses, cost allocations, and supporting analysis.
  • Maintain accurate standard costs through daily and monthly cost roll ups for raw materials, including ADMS updates, price list updates, and coordination of TP (Transfer Price) requests.
  • Oversee material movement accuracy by monitoring receipts, consumption, withdrawals, and supporting cycle counts, ABC stratification, and inventory audit procedures.
  • Manage all consigned inventory processes, including usage invoicing, vendor coordination, monthly reconciliations, and compliance with consignment accounting requirements.
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations for key balance sheet categories including inventory, AP/AR, CIP, prepaids, tariffs, consignment balances, freight, and other accrued liabilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and communicate clearly to identify issues, challenge assumptions, and drive accurate and timely financial results.
