About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the development and coordination of product & process cost estimates. Collaborates with all stakeholders to establish cost estimates supporting advanced development production implementation, directional/engineering estimates, and should cost modeling on key strategic business.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or bachelor’s equivalency) business or engineering; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing/engineering related environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in product costing environment.
  • Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer, may require local, domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes customer quote packages to ensure the development of a comprehensive response.
  • Works closely with all stakeholders (division, operations, MP&L, finance, engineering, purchasing, sales, and business development) to establish directional cost estimates.
  • Develop process to streamline real-time cost data access: raw material, labor & cycle time, burden, component costs (purchasing), mold & paint processing, tooling, and capital cost & capacity.
  • Provides cost estimate inputs to new business finance manager for QC model inclusion and alignment on key financial metrics.
  • Verifies accuracy and finalizes quote packages.
  • Ensures Group and Divisional leadership visibility & approval prior to customer submission.
  • Supports and justifies cost/pricing structure to the customer as required, under the direction of the department manager and with the coordination of Sales, Business Development, and Engineering.
  • Maintains customer submitted pricing data as required.
  • Supports Internal / External Audit efforts regarding ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949 Certification for remote site location (Group Office).
  • Supports the requirements as detailed in Standard Operating Procedure 8000 (Quality Management System).
  • Ensure employees work in the manner consistent with the organizations established objectives and targets utilizing protective equipment, devices, measures, and procedures as promulgated by state and federal regulations.
  • Establish clear goals for workplace health and safety.
  • Complete safety talks, safety meetings, and required training occur, as defined.
