Cost Estimator

This position serves as the Cost Estimation Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) Cost Estimator for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR), Program Integration Department (CT-PI). CTR supports U.S. national security by preventing the acquisition, proliferation, and use of WMD, related materials, technologies, and expertise. The cooperative nature of CT's efforts contribute to stability, cooperation, and expanding U.S. influence in partner states and their regions. PI's Department provides support to the entire CTR directorate and offices in 22 countries in the following areas: manpower/ human capital, training, travel, knowledge and records management, acquisition, onboarding, export control, records management, cost support controls, and property/ facilities. The PI A&AS Cost Estimator is part of the A&AS team of Cost Estimation SMEs with varied levels of experience providing cross-matrixed support to the entire CTR directorate for all acquisition related cost activities including but not limited to developing Rough Orders of Magnitude (ROMs), Independent Government Cost Estimates (IGCEs), and Independent Cost Evaluations. The Cost Estimator will collaborate with the Cost Estimation A&AS Team Lead to work directly with the USG Management Support Specialist and supports the PI Department Chief, CT Director, CT Lead or Leadership, and engages with PI A&AS Department Team Lead and Deputy. This is a critical role and as such is expected to provide thought leadership, contribute on several simultaneous cost estimation and budget analysis projects, and take an active role in client engagement, execution, and assist in project management.
