A Ford Cost Estimator is a technical manufacturing specialist responsible for predicting and analyzing the total cost of vehicle components, systems, and manufacturing processes. Ford utilizes 'bottom-up' technical cost modeling to evaluate material, labor, and overhead expenses, ensuring that new vehicle programs meet profitability targets while maintaining Ford’s quality standards. Must be process oriented with strong analytical skills and a high degree of business acumen with a strong ability to learn operational and strategic business issues. The Cost Engineer/Cost Analyst for this position must have experience in more than one of the following: BIW Stamping and sheet metal products Assembly integration and optimization All forms of metal casting: Ferrous, AL, Mg Extrusions Machining Roll forming Plating and coatings Metallurgist Experience using Estimating Software to develop should cost estimates such as FACTON, ARRORI, SIEMANS. Ability to construct and analyze manufacturing costs of components by reviewing drawings, engineering specifications, and functional requirements. Demonstrate a proven grasp of business concepts as well as quantitative and critical thinking skills. Ability to assess cost benefit analysis of different supplier manufacturing methods. Ability to maintain data integrity and accuracy and use data to identify and solve problems. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical achievements; or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • 10+ years of business and/or engineering, or an undergraduate degree in Technical Schools with 5+ years of Automotive manufacturing experience
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing
  • Proficiency in data analysis
  • Experience in more than one of the following: BIW Stamping and sheet metal products, Assembly integration and optimization, All forms of metal casting: Ferrous, AL, Mg, Extrusions, Machining, Roll forming, Plating and coatings, Metallurgist
  • Experience using Estimating Software to develop should cost estimates such as FACTON, ARRORI, SIEMANS.
