As a Cost Engineer for PCL Industrial Construction Co. in Houston, Texas, you’ll have the opportunity to provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting that enables project teams to manage risk, control expenditures, and maximize project profitability.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years related experience.
  • EPC O&G Construction experience required.
  • BS degree in related field an asset.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of planning, scheduling, progress measurement, cost analysis and cost forecasting.
  • Must be well organized with good time management skills and a strong bias for action to meet goals and deadlines.
  • Solid computer skills with experience in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for activities related to project cost controls on downstream construction projects.
  • Coordinates and directs efforts to ensure optimum costing and coordination of projects to ensure the company meets our and customer expectations.
  • Assists in generating change order estimates, creation of change requests, processing of change orders, and management of change throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure site project cost controls policies and procedures, consistent with department policies, are implemented and monitored throughout the duration of the project.
  • Analyze, trend and communicate schedule and progress information to project personnel through useful graphs and summary reports.
  • Review the earned value progress report with the PC Manger and ensure accuracy of the report.
  • Creation and maintenance of the WBS and coordination of work packages. Develop work planning with field departments and hold regular field progress meetings as required.
  • Track field progress and review the field progress and productivity measurement systems.
  • Monitor project budgets with the Project Controls Manager.
  • Creation and review of project cost forecasts utilizing cost to date, rates of placement, productivity of direct hire trades, etc.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project reports for the manager.
