About The Position

The Cost Engineer position at Jacobs involves supporting the construction aspects of MARTA's expansion program as part of a joint venture. The role focuses on project controls, financial management, and ensuring timely and accurate billing and budget monitoring for multiple subconsultant firms. The Project Controls Specialist will play a crucial role in data management, risk analysis, and reporting, contributing to the overall success of the project.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in Cost Management, Engineering, Project Management, Accounting, or Finance.
  • United States Citizenship required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a project controls or related function.
  • Minimum of five (5) plus years' experience on PMCM contracts for a project/program working on a client site.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business representatives of approximately 20 subconsultant firms to address invoicing, payments, and budgeting concerns.
  • Collaborate with Jacobs' Contract Support staff for the development, submission, and approval of subconsultant work orders.
  • Track and report diversity participation data and compliance on a monthly basis.
  • Track and report monthly overtime hours for approximately 20 subconsultant firms.
  • Verify, consolidate, and coordinate timesheets for MARTA and subconsultants.
  • Assist Senior Project Manager, Business Manager, and Resource Coordinator with DocuSign tracking for various documents.
  • Acquire supplies as needed to support joint venture functions.
  • Input or update critical activity data, including project logic, resource allocations, progress updates, and expenditure details.
  • Execute comprehensive risk analysis on both cost and schedule, providing recommendations for effective contingency usage.
  • Implement and uphold change management systems and processes.
  • Identify potential project issues early and report them to operations leadership, collaborating on recovery plans.
  • Prepare detailed spreadsheets and conduct routine cost analyses, cash flow evaluations, and other cost-related assessments.
  • Set up, monitor, and report on earned value progress measurement systems for projects.
  • Produce comprehensive planning and scheduling reports and analyses.
