About The Position
The D.A. Collins Family of Companies is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual for the position of Cost Engineer in Wilton, NY. This role is crucial for managing all aspects of cost reporting for various projects, ensuring that the financial position of each project is communicated effectively to all levels of management from inception to close out. The Cost Engineer will be responsible for job setup, weekly production reporting, monthly job cost reporting, and quarterly closeout reporting to company executives. This position is ideal for someone who is serious about their career and is looking to grow within a reputable company that has been a leader in industrial, infrastructure, highway, and bridge construction for over 75 years. In this role, the Cost Engineer will collaborate closely with estimating and project teams to designate codes for tracking costs and quantities for work performed in the field. They will collect weekly quantities and progress details from project managers and field engineers, analyze project costs and progress, and produce weekly reports for supervision and executives. Additionally, the Cost Engineer will audit and review job costs and revenue projections, maintain contracts with contract change orders, subcontract change orders, budget moves, and job cost moves. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly to various software applications, as well as excellent communication skills and proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
