About The Position

As a Cost Compliance Specialist within our Air Charter department, you’ll utilize your knowledge and experience to maintain the most precise compliance to all costs and charges associated with charter activity. Responsibilities to include a secondary audit of each delivered charter shipment to ensure billing and payable information is accurate. Additionally, responsibilities include proper notification has taken place with the customer to ensure all cost associated with Charter activity have been capture and communicated effectively and accurately. Other tasks may include updating Charter shipments with accurate documentation, POD and paperwork upload, and contract alignment. Additional duties would include addressing and escalating of non-compliance situations with Operations Leadership. Create, develop, and maintain effective Audit procedures for Charter department Verification of data entry requirements with modification as necessary to meet customer requirements Develop and maintain KPI’s for Audit compliance and reporting purposes Full understanding of customer requirements and ensure proper follow up has taken place on each charter shipment Work closely and communicate with each workgroup within Ascent in order to streamline, simplify, and provide timely settlement period for charter activity. Suggest improvement opportunities in the charter audit, settlement, and billing process. Identify and raise awareness to issues that arise in the settlement process and correct inaccuracies so to maximize profitability. Maintain intense focus on daily operational tasks in the charter management process and support high volume charter periods as necessary Maintain the upmost awareness to unique customer billing requirements and communicate issues to operations and accounting leadership as necessary. Utilize various reporting mechanisms to generate reporting related to air charter activity. Effectively manage all channels of communication between charter operations and accounting department Effectively manage all channels of communication utilized within the Ascent air charter operation. Provide shipment follow up and investigation reporting as necessary. Ensure customer pricing model is in line with industry and market pricing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2 years of expedited logistics (preferably in air charter) or airline operations experience required.
  • Ability to complete a Security Threat Assessment (STA) in accordance with the TSA
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook and Excel preferred.
  • Basic geography knowledge preferred.
  • Applicants should understand the locations of US States, Mexico States, and Canadian Provinces – including major cities thereof.
  • Capability to pay attention to detail while multi-tasking.
  • Solid communications skills – both verbal and written.
  • Working knowledge of Ascent accounting and billing process preferred
  • Ability to remain calm during adverse conditions.

Responsibilities
