About The Position

This is a full-time role based in Dallas, Texas. Sixth Street has an immediate opening for a bright, hard-working individual to join our team as an Accounting Analyst as part of the Cost Allocation & Analytics Team to support several of our investment funds in Dallas, Texas. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to be an integral part of a growing team in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment. This person will be interfacing with all levels of management to identify, improve, and implement processes that will have significant impact across the business. More about the role: Unique, accounting adjacent - focused on expense activity within fund ledgers. No recording or reporting and no quarterly cycle, just review and analysis. Process oriented - in a current transition from excel based systems to automated solutions. Ground floor position - long term vision for group is to consolidate more fund expense related control /analysis post go live of new systems / automated solutions. This position will be in a preparer role with understanding of key current processes will be critical to daily success. Within 12 months knowledge gained on key current processes being applied to post go live workflow will be critical to daily success.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 to 4 years accounting experience in a combination of public accounting, internal audit, fund admin, compliance, or another private equity or investment management firm
  • Experience with alternative investments, private equity and partnership accounting, and fund administration are a plus.
  • A. or B.S. in Accounting or a related field
  • Strong accounting skills; professional certification (CPA or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • Excel skills including index/match, advanced pivots, and advanced formulas are a must. Organizational skills are critical as we interact/review work of a third party service provider to ensure accuracy of consolidated outputs (we provide segmented inputs).
  • Experience with credit and structured products investments (Bank Debt, HY Bonds, CLOs)
  • Self-starter who requires little direction
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in a high-volume environment
  • Strong sense of urgency; ability to execute quickly and efficiently with strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Structured problem solver who can synthesize sophisticated information from a variety of sources into implementable recommendations and solutions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the management of expense codes and corresponding allocation rules
  • Assist in implementation and development of a new expense allocation system
  • Interact with different departments in the firm both domestically and internationally, including Deal Teams, Fund Accounting, IT, Operations, Compliance, Financial Planning & Strategy, Tax, and Accounts Payable
  • Assist with design and implementation of accounting systems and processes
  • Ensure compliance of expense recoveries in accordance with fund documents and maintain the associated log of decision making
  • Develop and implement processes and procedures throughout the expense life cycle
  • Identify and help solve for critical accounting and reporting issues
  • Manage and perform special projects and analysis for firm leadership
