About The Position

The Cost Analyst performs functional economic and cost analysis to evaluate alternative approaches for achieving program and organizational objectives. This role analyzes investment costs, benefits, and risks relative to established baseline costs and assesses the financial impact of current and future operational decisions. The position ensures that cross-functional, security, and integration considerations are addressed in cost evaluations. Requirements

  • Approximately four (4) years of experience in cost analysis, financial analysis, economic analysis, or related field.
  • Experience developing cost models and evaluating investment alternatives.
  • Familiarity with business case development and cost-benefit analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and interpret complex quantitative information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and financial modeling tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present analytical findings to management and stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Management, or related field required;OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct functional economic analyses to evaluate the costs of alternative methods for accomplishing organizational objectives.
  • Analyze investment costs, anticipated benefits, and associated risks to determine net changes relative to functional baseline costs.
  • Assess the cost of current operations and projected future business impacts.
  • Evaluate cross-functional, integration, and security considerations as part of cost analysis efforts.
  • Develop cost models and financial projections to support decision-making.
  • Support business case analysis and return-on-investment (ROI) assessments.
  • Prepare analytical reports, findings, and recommendations for management review.
  • Review financial and programmatic data to identify cost drivers and performance trends.
  • Support budget planning and resource allocation decisions through cost analysis.
  • Collaborate with program, financial, and technical stakeholders to validate assumptions and data inputs.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable financial standards and organizational policies.
