About The Position

The Cost Accounting role is a key member of the Financial Services team and reports directly to the CFO. This position is responsible for cost accounting, inventory analysis, and operational cost reporting, with a heavy focus on outsourced manufacturing, distribution, and product‑level cost support. The role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leadership to ensure accurate cost data, margin analysis, and decision‑support reporting. This role supports the company by providing detailed cost insights, variance analysis, and process improvements related to inventory valuation, standard costing, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with significant cost accounting exposure
  • Experience with inventory‑based businesses, manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments
  • Strong understanding of COGS, inventory valuation, and cost flows
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
  • ERP systems with inventory
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to translate cost data into meaningful business insights
  • Strong cross‑functional communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline‑driven environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a multi‑entity or global environment
  • Experience supporting ERP systems (SAP ECC or SAP Business One highly preferred)
  • Background working closely with Operations or Supply Chain teams

Responsibilities

  • Track costs for components from purchase order to inventory
  • Perform inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, reserves, and reconciliation
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close related to inventory, component consumption, and accruals
  • Prepare and review product‑level and SKU‑level margin analysis
  • Partner with Engineering and Supply Chain to: Review cost drivers
  • Support operational decision‑making and E&O identification
  • Support new product costing, cost roll‑ups, and pricing analysis
  • Assist with intercompany costing, transfers, and inventory movements
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of cost data within the ERP system
  • Support internal and external audits by providing cost and inventory documentation
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of cost accounting policies and procedures
  • Prepare ad‑hoc cost analysis and reporting for the Controller and CFO as needed
