Our Cost Accounting Manager will be based out of our Burlington office, where we work a required hybrid schedule of in-office Monday through Thursday each week, and remote on Fridays. Candidates must reside within or be willing to relocate to a commutable distance from our Burlington office.

Requirements

  • Minimum eight years of experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with multi-location and multi-currency
  • Must have a strong cost accounting background and sound understanding of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP platforms and advanced Excel skills
  • High energy individual with strong organizational prioritization and time management skills; strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Customer-driven, team player committed to developing and maintaining partnerships and strong working relationships with other departments and with staff
  • Ability to manage and work effectively on multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversight
  • Must be hands-on, detail orientated with the ability to work with and meet critical deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Occasional travel to manufacturing plants

Responsibilities

  • Calculate and maintain the company's inventory standards for raw materials, packaging and finished goods
  • Calculate and record the capitalization of inventory variances - PPV/IPV, over/under absorption
  • Analyze monthly variances to budget/forecast
  • Investigate manufacturing related problems and variances, inventory transaction issues, and scrap & cycle count
  • Organize complex data utilizing advanced Excel and database skills
  • Represent accounting in cross-functional teams for process/systems implementations, new product launches, special projects
  • Create and analyze performance metrics
  • Ad hoc analysis
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and roll forwards
  • Prepare journal entries for monthly financial statements
  • Ensure and record reasonable estimate of inventory obsolescence reserve
  • Work directly with audit and tax firms related to inventory accounting
  • Provide periodic reporting to outside parties, such as banks and government agencies
  • Continuously improve / streamline / automate work processes, reports, and analyses
