About The Position

The Cost Accountant at Relucent Plastics Solutions is responsible for analyzing and managing production costs associated with plastics injection molding. This role focuses on monitoring costs, preparing budgets, and providing financial insights to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in cost accounting or financial analysis, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
• Knowledge of cost accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Nice To Haves

• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820).
• Experience with ERP Systems in an Operations setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze cost reports, including standard cost analyses and variance reports, on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Monitor production costs and develop cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead, adjusting as necessary.
• Collaborate with the President to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory costs, including direct and indirect costs associated with production.
• Develop and maintain an accurate cost accounting system and procedures, according to GAAP.
• Analyze and interpret financial data to identify trends and potential cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct regular reviews of inventory valuation and cost allocation methods.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and accounting standards.
