About The Position

Founded in 1849, Ducommun is the oldest company in California. Starting as a hardware supply store during the California Gold Rush and eventually assisted in the birth of the aerospace industry in Southern California by providing aircraft aluminum to early aerospace pioneers like Lindbergh, Douglas and Lockheed. Today Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications. Our Facility in Huntsville, AR manufactures state-of-the-art integrated box builds for the Aerospace and Defense Industries.

Requirements

  • Self-starter capable of interacting closely with production, bidding and customer service as well as the ability to quickly identify and solve complex problems.
  • Strong analytical ability and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a large volume of detail, producing accurate results within aggressive deadlines.
  • Advanced level of computer skills in e-mail, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Proficient ERP system skills. (BAAN/SAP experience a plus)
  • Ability to prepare business correspondence, reports, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present technical and budgetary or cost information, and respond to questions from managers and external contractors.
  • Demonstrated problem solving ability involving many variables and limited standardization.
  • Leadership skills-people management, meeting facilitation, presentation, and customer support.
  • Negotiation and conflict management skills together with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills to interact with people at all levels and functions inside and outside Ducommun, Inc.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience with SOX Compliance and requirements is a must.
  • Excellent drive and work ethic; regular attendance on-site is a must.

Responsibilities

  • General ledger entries and reconciliations (15% of time)
  • Determine cost of operations by validating and managing actual cost of sales through collecting of and thorough analysis of operational data. (20% of time)
  • Work with the material and operation functions to audit processes surrounding inventory (costing, transaction trials, cycle counts, customer furnished material and obsolete/excess material). (10% of time)
  • Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures; provide trends and forecasts; explain processes and techniques; recommend actions. (10% of time)
  • SOX reporting and compliance. (5% of time)
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to operations for lean activities to drive increased profitability. (5% of time)
  • Provide regular margin analysis reports for actual versus bid to the facility staff. (5% of time)
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and make comparative analyses; study and propose changes in methods and materials (5% of time)
  • Develop and document Standard work practices. (5% of time)
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. (10% of time)
  • Prepare 606 Revenue Analysis and supporting documents. (10% of time)
