About The Position

As a Cost Accountant, you’ll play a critical role in driving financial accuracy and operational efficiency across our global supply chain. Partnering closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and finance teams, you’ll ensure product costing is accurate, uncover insights through data, and help guide smarter business decisions in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory accounting, and variance analysis
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred)
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both finance and non-finance teams
  • A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on data accuracy
  • Strong business partnership approach
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Confidence working with complex data and financial models

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA (or in progress) is a plus
  • Experience in high-volume or multi-plant environments is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead month-end close activities including journal entries, reporting, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Analyze and maintain product costs across raw materials, labor, overhead, freight, and tariffs
  • Manage standard costing and perform detailed variance analysis (purchase price, labor, overhead, etc.)
  • Partner with manufacturing and supply chain teams to understand cost drivers and identify improvements
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation, including excess and obsolete (E&O) reserves
  • Support E&O reporting and help reduce excess and obsolete inventory levels
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis across products, customers, and plants
  • Support new product introductions, cost rollups, and bill of materials (BOM) accuracy
  • Prepare reporting and insights on costs, margins, and operational performance
  • Investigate and resolve cost variances to improve financial performance
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company policies
  • Occasionally travel to support operations across locations
