About The Position

HSP US is seeking a Cost Accountant to support our rapidly growing U.S. manufacturing operation. This role is critical in establishing strong cost transparency, inventory accuracy, and financial control as we scale production in Charlotte. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail‑oriented, and thrives in a fast‑paced factory environment. You will partner closely with Operations, Planning, Engineering, and Finance to ensure accurate costing, strong internal controls, and meaningful insights for leadership. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP S/4HANA (CO/MM modules required).
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with Excel.
  • Solid understanding of BOMs, routings, standard costing, variances, and inventory accounting.
  • Practical SAP navigation and hands‑on user experience.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with operations partners.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and analyze Bills of Material (BOM) and Routings in SAP S/4HANA.
  • Perform standard cost roll and mid‑year updates.
  • Review material master’s for accurate costing fields, overhead groups, and costing lots.
  • Validate work center/activity rates and coordinate updates.
  • Support NPI and engineering changes from a costing and inventory perspective.
  • Ensure accurate reflection of transfer pricing for intercompany materials.
  • Analyze PPV, usage variances, production variances, labor/overhead variances, and scrap.
  • Partner with Production and Planning to identify root causes and track corrective actions.
  • Provide weekly/monthly variance dashboards for Site Leadership.
  • Calculate and report cost of non‑quality, scrap cost, and yield impacts.
  • Participate in daily production meetings to explain variances and cost insights.
  • Perform month‑end inventory valuation, reclassifications, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Monitor and adjust WIP, FG, and Raw inventory accuracy.
  • Review and post inventory adjustments (cycle counts, write‑offs, scrap).
  • Support physical inventory and build the cycle count program, including procedural design.
  • Enforce strong internal controls for all inventory‑related movements (GI/GR, MIGO/MIRO). Monitor production order statuses to ensure timely settlement.
  • Prepare manufacturing cost reports (cost per unit, cost center performance, absorption, overhead rates).
  • Maintain plant cost KPIs (inventory turns, DIO, conversion cost per hour, OEE cost impacts).
  • Support budgeting and forecasting related to COGS, conversion costs, and cost centers.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Operations, Order Management, and Quality to improve cost visibility.
  • Prepare and post cost‑related month‑end journal entries (WIP, variances, overhead absorption).
  • Execute cost center closing and production order settlement.
  • Support FI month‑end close by providing inventory, cost roll forward, and other relevant reports.
  • Act as CO owner during close and coordinating with the Site Accountant for FI postings.
  • Own cost-related SAP master data and configuration inputs.
  • Review and troubleshooting costing errors and Material Ledger inconsistencies.
  • Ensure alignment of cost flows with production processes (GI/GR, confirmations, settlement).
  • Support SAP cutover, test cycles (SIT/UAT), data loads, and end‑user training
