About The Position

The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, tracking, and controlling costs related to production, inventory, and operations. This role supports management decision-making by providing accurate cost data, variance analysis, and recommendations to improve efficiency and profitability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in cost accounting or manufacturing accounting
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and inventory management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, and budgeting.
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead
  • Perform cost variance analysis and investigate discrepancies
  • Monitor inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS)
  • Prepare cost reports, budgets, and forecasts
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes related to costing
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to improve cost controls
  • Assist with product pricing, margin analysis, and profitability studies
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Support audits by providing cost-related documentation and explanations
  • Reconciling RNIs (Received not Invoiced).
