About The Position

We are currently hiring a Cost Accountant in Boston, MA. The Cost Accountant is responsible for activities related to inventory accuracy for outside warehouses & contract brewery locations, preparing journal entries and reconciliations for month-end close, ad-hoc analysis to drive efficiencies within the cost team, and other required reporting. What You'll Brew: Month end close preparation, including booking of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. Monthly analysis and reporting for specific Other COGS accounts (ex: Miscellaneous COGS) Process inventory transactions including receipts, transfers and physical inventory adjustments on a timely basis to ensure real-time inventory levels. Maintain inventory accuracy by preparing inventory reconciliations; research and resolve all discrepancies within given time frame Weekly review of in-transit inventory and resolution of discrepancies Support interim and annual audit related to Cost Accounting requests Schedule, coordinate and participation in physical and cycle count inventories for outside warehouses and contract brewery locations in compliance with internal & external auditor requirements Maintain cost accounting procedures and 3rd party contacts listing to ensure up to date Assist with other projects, reconciliations, and reporting as assigned What Ingredients You'll Bring: Minimum Qualifications: 2-4 years of experience in cost accounting or related field in support of monthly close, inventory records management, internal reporting and analysis in a food, beverage or other consumer-branded/manufacturing business preferred Preferred Qualifications: Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint), SAP experience a plus Level: 7IC At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $61,000 and $109,000. However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance. Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in cost accounting or related field in support of monthly close, inventory records management, internal reporting and analysis in a food, beverage or other consumer-branded/manufacturing business preferred
