Position Overview: Are you a hands-on accountant who thrives in a manufacturing or production environment? We’re looking for a Cost Accountant with strong inventory and general ledger experience to join our team in Sandy, Utah. This in-office role is key to maintaining financial accuracy across our polymerics and mortars division. You'll play a critical part in inventory tracking, journal entries, monthly close, and day-to-day financial operations. This is a great opportunity for someone who prefers action over analysis, someone who wants to roll up their sleeves, work closely with operations, and see the impact of their work firsthand.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience in manufacturing or materials-based industries
  • Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, journal entries, and monthly close
  • Proficiency with Excel and ERP systems
  • Detail-oriented and accountable

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods across multiple sites
  • Reconcile inventory accounts monthly; investigate and resolve variances
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to inventory, accruals, and cost allocations
  • Manage core bookkeeping functions including ledger maintenance and account reconciliations
  • Support the monthly close process to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Assist with the implementation and data migration to a new accounting/inventory system
  • Partner with production and warehouse teams to improve inventory tracking and reporting
  • Provide reporting and insights on cost of goods sold, inventory valuation, and margins
  • Support internal and external audit requirements related to inventory and operations
  • Lead or assist with ad hoc financial projects and process improvement initiatives
