About The Position

Venturity is partnering with one of our key manufacturing client, AdvoCare, to recruit a Cost Accountant who will report directly to the Accounting Manager and support all manufacturing-related cost accounting activities. This role is responsible for maintaining standard costs, analyzing cost variances, and managing the monthly inventory and cost close processes. The position also reviews actual versus standard costs, supports inventory valuation, assists with physical inventory counts, and ensures accurate cost data is maintained across the ERP system. AdvoCare is a Good Manufacturing and Documentation Practices (GMP) environment

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a cost accountant.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams, with the ability to use these tools for data analysis, reporting, and collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Oracle cloud-based ERP, preferably EBS or Fusion.
  • Experience with ERP implementations.
  • Experience with manufacturing costing structures (BOM, routing, labor/overhead application).

Responsibilities

  • Set up and update standard cost for the products.
  • Maintain cost worksheets and Price Lists.
  • Support general ledger month-end closing activities.
  • Prepare a monthly Inventory Valuation report by location.
  • Assist with periodic physical inventory counts.
  • Manage and research inventory GL transactions such as account alias issue, account alias receipts, and deal with day-to-day inventory issues.
  • Review offsite inventory counts and perform write-offs as necessary.
  • Compile monthly inventory use and promotion such as inventory samples, shipper boxes, promotion, products giveaways, free products sent to distributors, and packaging for repacking for use tax filing team.
  • Update bundle breakdown cost worksheets for promotion bundle.
  • Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
  • Prepare monthly Journal Entries and perform account reconciliations.
  • Maintain communications with inventory control, purchasing, and AP, and receiving department: shipments, receipts, reworks, invoices match to receipt, credit memo, etc.
  • Compile monthly report for giveaways products for Sale and Marketing department.
  • Analyze the Quarterly Inventory Reserve.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly AP accruals and AP reconciliations for inventory invoices.
  • Review monthly PO reports to analyze actual costs v. standard costs for new products.
  • Review and verify accounting GL code for new inventory item setup.
  • Other projects and analyses as required.
