Salary: Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications. Job Summary The Cost Accountant supports financial and operational reporting within a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maintaining standard cost systems, analyzing COGS and manufacturing variances, supporting ERP-driven reporting, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. The position works cross-functionally with sales, operations, and leadership to ensure accurate costing, margin analysis, and inventory reporting while driving process improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing accounting or related capacity
- Experience recording journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts
- Strong understanding of manufacturing variances and cost analysis
- Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- ERP system experience required

Responsibilities
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and analyzing standard costs
- Partner with sales to provide cost data for pricing and quoting decisions
- Improve costing processes through cross-functional collaboration
- Prepare and distribute manufacturing reports including gross margin, yield, and aged inventory
- Maintain monthly gross margin reporting
- Prepare month-end journal entries (COGS, E&O, PPV, and other manufacturing accounts)
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations related to manufacturing accounts
- Calculate and record quarterly labor and overhead capitalization
- Perform monthly obsolescence analysis with Controller/CFO
- Analyze COGS accounts monthly
- Support external and internal audits
- Manage cycle count process and inventory adjustments
- Support GL accounting including AR posting, collections, and bank reconciliations
- Maintain and monitor product costing systems
- Extract and analyze ERP data in Excel for reporting
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure tracking
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities
- Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned
