About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accountant III to join our dynamic finance team and support strategic decision-making through accurate cost analysis and reporting. This position requires advanced knowledge of cost accounting principles, ERP systems, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure financial integrity and transparency.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting procedures and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced analytical and organizational skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and demonstrate professional and ethical behaviors.
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data from disparate sources and ensure accuracy and integrity of financial and operating numbers.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing operational and program costs, investigating variances, and providing insights for decision-making.
  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, and Executive teams.
  • Experience in process improvement and automation of financial reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Prior experience utilizing an ERP system required, Epicor experience preferred.
  • This position must meet (ITAR) export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Data Visualization and Reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Review, perform analysis and report on inventory, profit margins, fixed costs, and variable costs.
  • Maintain cost standards and analyze variances between actual and standard costs.
  • Ensure financial reporting accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning of manufacturing costs, while providing actionable insights into cost reduction opportunities.
  • Support month-end closings and audits.
  • Conduct routine reviews of internal procedures, identify process gaps and perform risk assessments for cost accounting functions.
  • Support Epicor ERP enhancements and serve as a liaison between accounting, IT/ERP teams, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Identify and lead process improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and cost controls.
  • Provide training and maintain documentation on finance processes and best practices.
  • Support ad-hoc and data requests.
