The Cosmetology/Barber Inspector plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of the cosmetology and barbering industries in Ohio. The inspector will begin and end their workday at their residence, utilizing a state-issued vehicle to travel within their assigned area for inspections. The inspector will also be required to testify in adjudication hearings when requested, providing expert testimony based on their inspections. Maintaining the assigned state-owned vehicle is also a key responsibility, which includes reporting any needed maintenance and submitting gas purchases. Effective communication with Board licensees and the general public is essential in this role, as the inspector will often provide guidance and information regarding compliance with state laws and regulations.
