About The Position

The Cosmetologist 2 position at Walt Disney World involves working in various entertainment settings, including wig rooms, parade locations, and stage shows. Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid Driver's License.
• Experience with synthetic and human hair wig styling using appropriate tools.
• Styling experience with period styles such as finger waves and French Twists.
• Experience working with performers in various states of dress and undress.
• Basic hand sewing skills.
• Ability to use and learn new technology.

Nice To Haves

• A valid Florida Cosmetology license.
• Two years of experience in a salon, theater department, or film/tv hair and makeup department.
• One or more years of experience creating or styling synthetic wigs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all wigs for Walt Disney World Theme Park Entertainment offerings, Auto-Animatronics, and special events.
• Re-create wig styles based on provided documentation and photo references.
• Display understanding of various wig materials including lace, human hair, fur, yarn, and synthetic fibers.
• Assemble and coordinate makeup kits for performers.
• Facilitate and teach performer makeup application for shows and sets.
• Support entertainers with parade step-off, show pre-sets, strikes, and quick changes.
• Demonstrate proficiency with wig steaming, roller sets, and basic wig comb-outs.
• Perform daily cleaning procedures and maintain shared workspaces.
• Apply, remove, and maintain basic prosthetics.
• Dress, re-dress, and style Audio-Animatronics figures, including fitting hairpieces and wigs.
• Assist with inventory projects and perform quality evaluations of products.
